  • The Num lock should always be enabled. If it is disabled when you are attempting an alt code, it may cause errors or unexpected results in some applications. For example, Alt+4 could be interpreted as Alt +, ← which causes the browser to go back if the Num lock is disabled.
  • If your laptop keyboard doesn't have a separate NumPad, you should hold FN button with Alt button while typing the code.
  • This method does not work for Linux system, but it is possible to use Unicode.

Origin of deathly hallows symbol

The deathly hallows symbol, as mentioned above, consists of a triangle with a circle inside it. There is also a straight line that divides the circle and the top of the triangle. The deathly hallows themselves have mythologized objects in "Beedle the Bard: Three brothers encounter Death." These brothers are skilled wizards who decided to unite their powers to cross a river, where Death usually claims victims.

Death schemes to trick the brothers by offering each of them a gift. The eldest brother asked for an unbeatable wand, the 2nd brother asked for the power to raise the dead, and the third brother asked for an invisibility cloak. In the story, Death claims the first two brothers, but the youngest brother appears to live until he is ready to take off the invisible cloak and reveal himself. Hence, the hallows are united and are said to make the person who owns them the master of Death itself.
