What is PHSA

PHSA in full the Provincial Health Services Authority is a publicly owned and funded health service provider based in the province of British Columbia. Within British Columbia, the First Nations Health Authority is highly dispersed and non-regional. The five other health service authorities in the British Columbia province have regional jurisdiction. Health services are generally provided directly via the PHSA agencies or by the funding or collaboration together with the regional health authorities.

The PHSA manages and operates several well-recognized specialized health services and programs, such as the following:

– British Columbia Cancer

Also, PHSA aims to improve and effectively promote health, monitor and operate chronic conditions and also to reduce the burden of illness.

PHSA staff, leaders, and health professionals continuously try to seek system-wide improvements together with an emphasis on health promotion, prevention, and protection, started from conducting ground-breaking research to training next health professionals to setting province-wide standards to offering top-notch, and compassionate patient care.
